Accessibility
Accessibility refers to making a site accessible to everyone. Product or Content is accessible if wide range of audience with different physical disabilities and/or technical limitations can use it effectively. On a broader level, accessibility limitations fall into two categories
  • Technical limitations
  • User limitations
Technical limitations cover compatibility issues with different Browsers, Operating Systems, Bandwidth issues, constraints of programming scripting languages, etc.

User limitations refer to making websites and web applications accessible to all people irrespective of impairments, disabilities or age.

We address the accessibility needs of users with disabilities and technical limitations by conforming to priority 1 and priority 2 guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. By following the guidelines, we cater to the section 508 compliance in U.S and DDA act in UK.

WCAG Compliance
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 are the internationally accepted standard for web accessibility. They are written by the W3C - World Wide Web Consortium. The "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0" are a W3C specification providing guidance on accessibility of Web sites for people with disabilities. They have been developed by the W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative. The specification contains fourteen guidelines which are general principles of accessible design. Each guideline is associated with one or more checkpoints describing how to apply that guideline to particular features of Web pages.

508 Compliance
Section 508 requires that Federal agencies' electronic and information technology is accessible to people with disabilities. Section 508 eliminates barriers in information technology, to make available new opportunities for people with disabilities, and to encourage development of technologies that will help achieve these goals. The law applies to all Federal agencies when they develop, procure, maintain, or use electronic and information technology.

ADA Compliance
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal law enacted by Congress in 1990. It is a comprehensive civil rights law that makes it unlawful for public and private employers to discriminate against individuals with disabilities. In addition, ADA covers access to public and private programs, services, facilities, and transportation. In particular, Title II of ADA requires government entities to remove barriers that preclude the full participation of people with disabilities. This applies to any services, programs, or facilities.
